Dams to Darnley Country Park health walks

25 April 2012

Our evening health walks have begun for 2012. We meet every Tuesday evening from April to September at 6pm at the Ashoka Restaurant car park, Corselet Road, off Nitshill Road, Darnley. Just come along on the evening, there is no need to book in advance.

Dams to Darnley health walks are FREE and friendly. Each walk is led by a countryside ranger or volunteer leader. We walk up to four miles at a gentle pace and the route is suitable for all ages and abilities. The walks are a great way to meet new people and take the first steps towards a healthier lifestyle.

Why walk? Walking is one of the easiest ways of getting active:

  • It’s free;
  • It’s easy;
  • It’s fun;
  • It’s suitable for all ages and abilities.

Walking regularly:

  • Makes you feel good;
  • Helps you sleep better;
  • Helps you relax and reduce stress levels;
  • Helps with weight management;
  • Reduces the risk of developing heart disease, certain cancers and type II diabetes by up to 50%.
