Have your say on future proposals for the Country Park

7 January 2015

East Renfrewshire Council has prepared Proposed Supplementary Planning Guidance associated with the Country Park. The guidance supplements the policies and proposals of the East Renfrewshire Proposed Local Development Plan. The guidance aims to identify the priority enhancements that the Council wishes to support in order for the Country Park to realise its full potential as a visitor and community facility. It details enhancements based around four themes:

  • Access
  • Facilities
  • Natural and built heritage
  • Promotion and management

A Strategic Environmental Assessment has been carried out in parallel with the guidance. This has sought to guide and influence the preparation of the guidance and the proposals contained within it.

A six week period of public consultation on both the Proposed Supplementary Planning Guidance and the Strategic Environmental Assessment is now underway. This will last until 18 February 2015. Both documents are available to view on East Renfrewshire Council's website, where you will also find two response forms which can be used to submit comments on each. Additionally, copies of both documents are available to view at East Renfrewshire Council offices and at local libraies. Copies of response forms are also available at Council offices and libraries.

Following the six weeks of public consultation, consideration will be given to all comments received. A report will then be produced summarising all comments received, East Renfrewshire Council's response to each representation and any suggested revisions. This will be made available on the East Renfrewshire Council website, together with the finalised Supplementary Planning Guidance and Strategic Environmental Assessment documents.
